Dr. Michalis Klimatsidas is a thoracic surgeon, a doctor at the Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Initially trained as a military doctor, he continued his training abroad, where he lived for several years. After obtaining his specialization and after many years of experience in patient cases in the United Kingdom, where he served as a director of thoracic surgery consultant in Glasgow, he brings his studies and specialization to our country. Specifically, in Thessaloniki, his hometown, he receives patients at Agios Loukas in Panorama of Thessaloniki. In collaboration with the Agios Loukas clinic, he offers patients the possibility of minimally invasive thoracic surgery, as well as robotic thoracic surgery, which is his specialization and his \u201cpassion\u201d, as he calls it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Michalis Klimatsidas specializes in minimally invasive thoracic surgery using the single-portal technique, Uniportal VATS, as well as robotic thoracoscopic surgery, Robotic VATS (RATS). Minimally invasive thoracic surgery in the field of robotics is something very new and certainly unprecedented for Greek standards. <\/span>Dr. Klimatsidas with the help of his team <\/span>at the "AGIOS LOUKAS" Clinic, performed the first robotically assisted lobectomy with the Da Vinci X system. This is the first operation in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkans with this specific robotic surgery system, and also the first robotic thoracic surgery operation that has ever been performed in Northern Greece by a Greek thoracic surgeon.<\/span><\/p>\n
